  • ​June 20​17 — One of 28 physician-owned hospitals receiving 92 percent or more of their patients reporting on HCAHPS surveys that they would definitely recommend the hospital as reported by Becker's Hospital Review. The national average is 72 percent.
  • May 2017 — Ranked as one of the "Top 44 Hospitals Patients Would Definitely Recommend" on the patients' HCAHPS survey through Becker's Hospital Review.
  • ​April 2017 — The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano receives two green arrows (Better Than Expected) for Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery and Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery by Consumer Reports.

  • March 2017 — The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano's Quality Team wins the People's Choice Award at the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) conference.
  • February 2017 — Received a three-star participation award, the highest possible star rating, from the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI). Only 13 percent participating centers received three stars.
  • January 2017 — Ranked in the 59 hospitals with the lowest Emergency Department wait times where patients spent an average of four minutes or less in the emergency department before being seen by a healthcare professional as reported by Becker's Hospital Review. The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano's wait time is 3 minutes with the national average door to diagnostic evaluation time being 22 minutes.
  • January 2017 — Ranked in the 57 best overall patient-rated hospitals with 91 percent of patients giving an overall care rating of nine or ten on the patients' HCAHPS survey through Becker's Hospital Review. The national average is 72 percent.
  • Platinum Winner — 2017 Hermes Creative Award for the hospital's 2016 Outcomes Report, which offers outcomes data and hospital volumes by service line for calendar year 2016.

  • December 2016 ​ Ranked with a 30-day heart attack mortality rate of 11.5 percent by Becker's Hospital Review. The national average is 14.1 percent.
  • November 2016  Received Press Ganey's Pinnacle of Excellence Award® which recognizes organizations who have maintained consistently high levels of excellence over three years in patient experience, employee engagement, physician engagement or clinical quality performance. And, received its Guardian of Excellence Award® honoring clients who have reached the 95th percentile for patient experience, employee or physician engagement, or clinical quality performance.
  • August 2016 ​ Received U.S. News & World Report's ranking as the 18th in the nation in "Cardiology & Heart Surgery" and rated "High Performing" in five Adult Procedures/Conditions: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Aortic Valve Surgery, Heart Bypass Surgery, Heart Failure, and Lung Cancer Surgery.
  • July 2016  Recognized as one of the nation's "Top 55 hospitals patients would definitely recommend" by Becker's Hospital Review.
  • June 2016 —​ Received the Mission: Lifeline®​ Gold Receiving Center Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks.​
  • February 2016 — Received official notification from the ANCC Magnet​​® Commission that the hospital had earned re-designation as a Magnet® hospital.
  • ​​January 2016 —​ Received three-star quality rating, the highest rating possible, from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG), aortic valve replacement surgery (AVR), and aortic valve replacement surgery plus coronary artery bypass graft surgery (AVR + CABG). Only one percent - 11 facilities - of the 1,013 cardiac surgery programs in the United States included in this analysis and ranking received three stars in all three categories ranked, based on STS quality methodology.
