As part of its commitment to serve the community, The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano provides hospital financial assistance to patients who are indigent and satisfy certain requirements. To be considered for the program, you will be required to provide information on your household finances through a confidential Financial Assistance Application. Supporting documentation will be requested to verify your circumstances in order to determine eligibility.
A patient who qualifies for Financial Assistance will not be charged more for emergency or other medically necessary care than the amounts generally billed to patients with insurance.
There are a number of available programs from the federal, state, and local levels, which can help pay the medical bills for individuals or families who have low income and cannot afford medical care. Often, patients are unaware of these programs or are unable to access them due to the cumbersome enrollment process required to receive these benefits. Baylor Scott & White contracts with Eligibility Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading provider of eligibility and enrollment services in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, to help you find programs you may qualify for and walk you through the application process to increase your chance of success.

ECI is a designated Certified Application Counselor (CAC) organization through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). ECI representatives are trained to provide unbiased information and help you understand, apply for, and enroll in insurance coverage through the Health Insurance Exchange/Marketplace (Healthcare.gov ») and other insurance affordability programs such as Medicaid and CHIP.

If you do not have health insurance coverage and do not receive financial assistance under The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano’s Financial Assistance Program, we will apply a 40 percent Uninsured Patient Discount to all non-covered health care items and services provided except those specifically excluded: transplant services and packaged-priced services.
