Makes 4 servings


  • 1 lb. fresh asparagus (medium width)
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Lemon wedges, as garnish


  1. Preheat oven to 500°F. Rinse asparagus and cut off the tough ends.
  2. Place asparagus in a shallow roasting pan and coat with oil. Sprinkle with garlic, salt, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Roast uncovered for 6-8 minutes (depending on width of spears), shaking pan occasionally. Serve with lemon wedges.
