David Thibodeaux was mountain biking when he felt chest pain. "Every time I'd pedal uphill my chest hurt," he said. He wisely decided to have his heart checked. An angiogram at Baylor showed three clogged arteries and an immediate need for open heart surgery. Four days after the procedure, David was back home. He credits cardiac rehab as the final step to a quality of life he rates at "110 percent." Now he spends his days planning his next bike race.
