Heart failure is a condition in which the heart is not strong enough to pump enough blood to meet your body's needs. Some forms of heart failure are treated with surgery (coronary artery bypass surgery [CABG] or valve replacements). Most types of heart failure require long-term management that includes lifestyle changes, medications, and occasionally, medical devices.

If you're living with heart failure or have a loved one who's doing so, this video explains heart failure and discusses available treatment options. You'll also get tips for managing heart failure on a daily basis.
