In 2017, The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, moved up in the U.S. News & World Report's 28th Annual Best Hospitals rankings, and is currently ranked 16th in the nation in "Cardiology & Heart Surgery" and rated "High Performing" in five Adult Procedures/Conditions: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Aortic Valve Surgery, Heart Bypass Surgery, Heart Failure, and Lung Cancer Surgery.

One of the criteria used in the rankings is hospital reputation, which is influenced by physician voting. We encourage all physicians to vote through Doximity for the U.S. News & World Report 2018-19 rankings, and we ask that you consider voting for Heart Hospital Baylor Plano.

Open Heart Surgery

The Heart Hospital offers a wide range of open heart surgery techniques to address even the most complex cases. Types of open heart procedures include:

  • Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, including off pump CABG, and Thoracoscopic CABG
  • Mitral valve replacement and repair
  • Aortic valve and arch replacements
  • Implantation of Left Ventricular Assist Device
  • Congenital disorders

Valve & Structural Heart Surgery

As a high-volume center with a multidisciplinary heart team focused on providing quality outcomes, we have grown our reputation as a provider of choice for an increasing number of guests in need of a multifaceted approach to valve and structural heart disease care.

We have enhanced our capabilities in these areas for all guests, but particularly for more complex guests who in the past – or at other programs – have not been considered good surgical candidates and may require multiple interventions.
