THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano has once again improved its patient experience with the introduction of the first da Vinci^® Surgical System designated solely for cardiovascular and thoracic robotic-assisted procedures in North Texas. Now, patients can undergo major cardiovascular and thoracic procedures with just a few incisions and will likely experience a much shorter recovery time. Less discomfort and shorter down-time can allow patients a faster recovery and return to normal activities.

The robotic-assisted surgery system integrates 3-D, hi-definition (10X magnification) endoscopy and four robotic arms to direct cameras and complex surgical equipment into the surgical field. A qualified surgeon controls the system from a nearby console, orchestrating precise surgical maneuvers. Trained surgeons on the medical staff at THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano are able to perform even the most complex cardiac and thoracic surgeries with just a few small incisions placed between the ribs.
