Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Testing

Diagnostic testing is an important first step in your care at THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano. Some of our cardiovascular testing is non-invasive. This approach often provides us with as much information as more invasive methods, but with less pain, smaller incisions, and less risk of infection or complications. Our staff of dedicated health care professionals will work with you to determine the diagnostic tool appropriate for your unique situation. After the tests are completed, a physician will discuss the results, options, and next steps with you. Our non-invasive cardiovascular testing includes:

• Echocardiography, where high-frequency sound waves are used to evaluate the structure and function of the heart and surrounding blood vessels.
• Electrocardiography, which measures the electrical activity of the heart via monitor.
• Stress testing, which measures how the heart works during stress or exercise.
• Arrhythmia monitoring, where physicians track the heartbeat and the type and cause of heart rhythm abnormalities.
