Last Chance Heart Procedure Saving Lives: Patient Now Plans Trip to Europe With Son

May 7, 2012 - KDAF-TV, CW 33 medical reporter Barry Carpenter featured a medical breakthrough news story on the new FDA-approved TAVR procedure offered at THHBP. TAVR patient Gloria Zaki, 75, was interviewed along with her son Gary Woods. THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano Becomes One of Only 100 Hospitals in the Country Performing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)

Star Community Newspaper reporter, Kelley Chambers featured THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano for becoming one of only 100 hospitals in the country to perform Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement without open-heart surgery. Patients with severe aortic stenosis can now be considered for the less-invasive treatment with the new FDA-approved procedure known as the Edwards SAPIEN Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR). Having TAVR as a treatment option for these high risk patients was made possible through research at THE HEART HOSPITAL.
