Be Our Guest

At THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano, we make every effort to make your visit convenient and comfortable. Upon arrival, you may choose to take advantage of our complimentary valet parking, or you may self-park in our multi-level parking facility located just steps from our front door.

Once you enter the hospital, you will be greeted by the concierge at the front desk. Our concierge staff can help you, your family, and other visitors find a nearby hotel, restaurant options, maps to learn the area, and more. We are always ready to assist you.

Checking In

To protect the confidentiality of your personal health information, you will register in a private area. Our registration professional will ask you questions and explain what you can expect during your visit. These questions may be about your specific health concerns, your insurance, or other medical history.

When you come to THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano for a scheduled procedure, be sure that you:

• Follow the instructions that your doctor has given you, such as showering with special soap before arrival; bringing all of your medications, vitamins, and supplements in their correct bottles; and avoiding food and drink prior to any procedures.
• Wear comfortable clothes.
• Bring your co-payment, if required.
• Bring your insurance card and a picture ID, such as a driver's license or government-issued ID card.
• Bring a change of clothes and comfortable sleepwear for an overnight stay.
• Bring someone to drive you home if you are having an outpatient procedure.

Your doctor or nurse may have given you additional instructions to follow prior to your arrival at the hospital. Be sure you follow those carefully.

Getting to Your Guest Suite

Once you are registered, a transporter will show you and your family member(s) to your suite. Your transporter will explain the features and amenities in your guest suite as well as the guest services available to you. A nurse will arrive soon thereafter to begin providing your care.

When it is time for your procedure, a nurse or attendant will take you to the appropriate location. Your procedure will be performed in a technologically advanced setting, but typically the remainder of your care will be provided in your suite. Following your procedure, you will be brought back to your guest suite for your recovery. To make your recovery as comfortable as possible, you will likely remain in your suite until you are discharged. This "universal bed" concept that we practice brings most of your care to you, which improves the efficiency and effectiveness of your care and accelerates the healing process.
